Sildamax Review: Erections And Side Effects Galore

photo of a pack of sildamax tablets

Sildamax is a drug intended to help men with erectile dysfunction. It uses the same active ingredient as Viagra -sildenafil citrate. However, it’s not licensed for use in the United Kingdom and many other countries, even though there are some websites that sell it.

It hasn’t been evaluated and passed as safe by any medical body. When I tried it, it worked in a similar way to Viagra, which was a positive. However, I had several side effects and I wouldn’t want to continue using it. The strange effect it had on my vision was particularly disturbing.

Until it’s properly tested, passed as safe, and approved for use in the future, I wouldn’t recommend trying it.

My experience using Sildamax

photo of a blister pack of sildamax pills and one blue pill on a table

I bought my pack of Sildamax online from a website I’d bought other products from previously and believed to be legitimate enough.

I’ve updated this article since I took it though, and interestingly I’ve seen that the online pharmacy I got it from has stopped selling it now.

If you look around this website, you’ll see that I’ve tried Viagra, Sildamax and one other alternative drug for erectile dysfunction. I don’t plan on testing any others though as the side effects are kind of worrying. At least with viagra I know it’s regulated and thoroughly tested. Better the devil you know, as they say!

And on that note, because I know these drugs often give side effects as well as the positive effects you’re looking for if you have erection problems, I decided to keep a detailed timeline of what happened when I tried Sildamax the first time.

My timeline of effects and side effects

Here’s a detailed timeline of my first experiment with Sildamax:

  • 12.20 p.m. – took one Sildamax pill with a large glass of water.
  • 12.45 – started feeling a little light-headed.
  • 12.55 – noticed my vision was a bit strange. Everything I looked at had a blue tint, especially things that should have been white.
  • 1 p.m. – my partner tells me my face is red, and I also feel a bit flushed.
  • 1.10 – I decided to try and ignore the side effects. So we settled on the bed and got down to some foreplay. Within one minute of her touching me, I had a very hard erection (considerably harder than it normally gets).
  • 1.20 – I noticed during sex that my nose felt stuffy, making kissing awkward. I had to breathe through my mouth.
  • 1.30 – we finished having sex. My erection remained very hard for a few minutes, slowly reducing over the next 10 minutes.
  • 2.30 – still felt light-headed and with a stuffed nose, but it was tolerable. We decided to have sex again, and like before I had a full and strong erection in under a minute of my partner touching me.
  • 3.30 – the headache and stuffed nose seemed to have cleared up. My vision remained a little odd, but better than before.
  • 6 p.m. – felt completely normal again.

It worked, but not without side effects

The little blue Sildamax pill clearly did what it was supposed to do. In under an hour, the tablet was working, and I got a very full erection very quickly during foreplay.

An hour later, I again found it easy to get a good erection. We didn’t try to have sex sooner than an hour after the first time – I’m fairly sure it would have been easy to have sex sooner if we’d wanted to.

Despite the positive effects, I had several side effects that took a few hours to completely clear up. They were tolerable for me personally, but not very pleasant.

The bunged up nose and flushed face weren’t so much of an issue. Those are sensations I get from allergies, a cold, exercise and various other things.

The vision disturbance was, well, disturbing. I tried to ignore it, but it’s blatantly obvious something isn’t quite right when the whole world looks as if you’ve just put on some blue-tinted sunglasses.

Verdict

I can’t deny that Sildamax worked well for me. I often have problems getting an erection unless I’m feeling particularly aroused, but with minimal stimulation I was able to get a full erection.

I also had no problems keeping a good erection for the duration of sex. And I was ready to go again in an hour, which doesn’t usually happen for me nowadays.

However, despite doing what it’s supposed to do, the side effects kind of sucked and I wouldn’t want to experience them every time I have sex. Actually, I don’t want to experience them any time I have sex!

My other concern is that Sildamax is a generic sildenafil drug, unlicensed and unregulated. So it carries the same risk of side effects and warnings that more established brands like viagra do, but without any medical authority keeping an eye on the drug.

So personally, I won’t be taking any more, and I won’t be recommending it to anyone else either.

Further information

Who makes Sildamax?

When I ordered it, I didn’t receive a box or information leaflet – just a blister packet of 10 tablets. Pretty dodgy really, and one of the reasons I never bought anything else from that particular online pharmacy!

With no information leaflet, the only clue to who makes it was printed on the blister packet:

Exported by: Agron India Limited…Mumbai 40009 India

Agron India Ltd is a pharmaceutical company based in India. I looked them up online, and although they have a website with many products listed, I couldn’t see Sildamax among them.

I wrote to Agron to find out more, as well as requesting some safety and usage instructions. They never wrote back.

What does Sildamax look like?

To help with identification, I’ve taken a photo with a Sildamax tablet next to a viagra pill.

The Sildamax is the large blue diamond, with 100 written on it. Viagra is smaller, lighter in color and has VGR 50 on it, though could also have VGR 25 or VGR 100.

Ingredients

The active ingredient is 100 mg sildenafil citrate. It’s the same ingredient as viagra, except viagra is available in three dosage levels – 25mg, 50mg and 100mg.

The recommended starting dose of viagra is 50mg, so I was surprised to find Sildamax came only in the higher 100mg dose.

Since I didn’t receive a box or patient leaflet, I can’t confirm what other ingredients this batch contains.

How it works

Sildamax should work in the same way as other sildenafil-based erectile dysfunction drugs. Sildenafil increases blood flow to the penis, which helps you get and keep a hard enough erection for sex.

It usually takes 30 to 60 minutes to start working, and you only need to take it before you have sex.

It doesn’t automatically increase libido or give you an erection on its own though. You need to have some kind of sexual stimulation, to which you penis should respond better because of the increased blood flow.

Possible side effects

Sildamax isn’t as well known as some others, with less information available about it generally.

So I think it’s useful to look at the known possible side effects of sildenafil citrate in the quantities typical of these type of drugs:

Rare and serious side effects

  • Priapism – an erection that won’t stop. If you have one for longer than four hours, it’s important to get medical help to avoid penis damage.
  • Vision loss – a potential sign of a serious eye problem called non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy.
  • Hearing loss or ringing in the ears.
  • Heart problems.

If you have any of the above side effects, don’t take any more of the drug, and speak to a doctor straight away.

Common side effects

  • Headache.
  • Dizziness.
  • Indigestion, upset stomach, nausea.
  • Flushing feeling, noticeable in the face and groin.
  • Back or muscle pain.
  • Abnormal vision, such as color change (in particular seeing more blue), or blurred vision.
  • Nasal congestion.
  • Rash.

I’ve experienced some of these side effects with viagra, Sildamax, and even erectile dysfunction herbal remedies. They were tolerable and cleared up in a few hours, but I can understand why some men might not want any side effects at all during sex.

Risk of heart problems and death?

Drugs containing sildenafil citrate have had some controversy due to reported incidents of heart problems and even death.

The viagra website has this comment about that:

In addition, heart attack, stroke, irregular heartbeat and death have happened rarely in men taking VIAGRA. Most, but not all, of these men had heart problems before taking VIAGRA. It is not known if VIAGRA caused these problems.

Tell your healthcare provider if you have any side effect that bothers you or does not go away.

Some further advice comes on the useful rxlist.com website:

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.

During sexual activity, if you become dizzy or nauseated, or have pain, numbness, or tingling in your chest, arms, neck, or jaw, stop and call your doctor right away. You could be having a serious side effect of sildenafil.

And if you’d like to know more about the side effects associated with sildenafil, the drugs.com website has an extensive list.

Who shouldn’t take sildamax?

Again, I think it’s worth considering the generic advice about sildenafil erectile dysfunction drugs.

And that means not taking it without medical advice if the following apply to you:

  • If you’re taking any medications called nitrates (prescribed for chest pain).
  • If you’re taking any pulmonary arterial hypertension medicines.
  • If you had a heart attack or stroke in the past, have heart disease or cardiac problems.
  • If you have liver or kidney disease.
  • If you have an eye disease called retinitis pigmentosa.
  • If you’re allergic to sildenafil.
  • If you don’t have erection problems.
  • If you’re a woman or child.

Ask a medical profesional first

Based on my own experience, and the research I’ve done into sildenafil, I think it’s wise to speak to a medical professional before taking it, or any similar erectile dysfunction drug.

If you’re taking any medication, have a current or history of illness, my advice would be to check first with your doctor – even if you can get it online.

I would also avoid accepting it from a friend, or anyone you don’t trust.

If you do take a sildenafil product, avoid alcohol or other recreational drugs. Drink it with plenty of water, which I and other reviewers have found helps alleviate some side effects.

Don’t take more than one pill in a 24 hour period. And if you have any serious side effects, or even less serious common ones that worry you, speak to a doctor immediately.

Where to buy

At this time, I don’t feel comfortable recommending where to buy Sildamax.

Have you tried Sildamax?

If you’ve tried it, or any other sildenafil drug, it would be great to hear your experience; I know other readers will appreciate it too. And if you have any questions, feel free to share them in comments below.

  1. I was sat watching Eastenders while I took the pill around 45 minutes later I got a funny feeling in my hips as if I was being massaged although my Mrs wasn’t touching me and before you knew it he was in full glory. I didn’t have a problem keeping my erection and had sex for an awfully long time. My erection lasted the full night and I was still hard in the morning . I had no other side effects.

  2. Hi. After proposing to my (now) wife I for some reason developed extreme performance anxiety which of course caused quite some problems in our relationship. I at first went to the doctor who prescribed me another seldinafil medication which worked wonders. However my problem persisted so I started digging around for solutions and then discovered Cobra 120 (basically 120mg seldinafil) which I halved and it worked wonders. I have now purchased two Sildamax tablets which I will halve also and then try out. I prefer 100mg halved as I think side effects are less. Rather excited to try the Sildamax, it “looks” more like a legitimate product than the Cobra.

    • Hi Eugene
Thanks for sharing your experience. I wouldn’t base your decisions just on looks alone – some manufacturers just pay more attention to some details, but it doesn’t mean it’s any safer or better!
All the best though – I hope you manage to get back on top of your anxiety.

  3. Yeah, I decided to have a go at the little blue pill. Yes, I can say it worked a treat but as mentioned above about the side effects, it was correct in that the white light / warm face etc did concern me a little but went away after a while. She was pleased anyway so that is a bonus. thanks for the info guys and great to read all the responses.

    • Hi Jimmy
Thanks for sharing your experience. Those side effects can be worrying, for sure. I guess it’s a personal choice if they are worth it or not.

  4. Have been buying Sildamax for years. Half a tablet is fine for me. Side effects are a stuffed up nose and lights look very bright with a blue or purple tint. Doesn’t work very well just after a big meal though.Thoroughly recommended and a fraction of the cost of Viagra.

  5. These are very good the best I’ve tried got a couple from a mate to try and hallelujah. I have recently been told i have type 2 and the prescribed viagra given to me 50 mg and 100mg have not worked at all. the only side effect i think I’m getting is an ache in my lower back. other than that pole vaulting again tonight as not been active for several months. i will ask my doctor to prescribe me sildamax from now on as i won’t have to cough up any cash.

  6. Hi Ethan. Just received 100mg version by post exactly as you described. Thought I should check on line before taking and found your review very helpful. A previous comment mentions quartering the pill. Would you have any comments about this? Thought about halving or quartering as not sure I could eat a whole one.

    • Hi Angus
I’m glad the review was useful! I think it’s probably ok to reduce the dosage if you’re concerned about the effects of the full 100mg. It’s pretty strong, so initially at least it might help mitigate the risk of side effects.

  7. Hi people, I’ve been using this for a while now and the results are very impressive, yes I have suffered from some of the side effects, but the pros outweigh the cons. I have even taken them around 10 in the evening and 8am I’m still solid lol, high recommend people.

    • Hi Jason
Thanks for sharing your experience of Sildamax. I guess that’s the decision many men will have to make with these strong drugs – if the benefits make some of the niggling side effects worthwhile dealing with. And that will always be a personal decision.
      Ethan

      • I’ve tried taking the tablet as a half and there seemed to be no difference so took the second half an hour later and boom it was as solid as a rock still having an effect the next morning, but when I took the tablet as a whole a couple of days later there was little effect at all, no side effects whatsoever.
Reading previous posts I was waiting a couple of hours for it to work, would you suggest a maximum of an hour prior to sex?

        • Hi PJ
That’s an interesting experience by the sounds of it. I think an hour is generally enough time – I personally wouldn’t leave it too much longer without a reason to.

  8. Hi Ethan,
last night i tried Sildamax (got it from EBay) after ‘consulting’ your review and was a bit afraid of possible side effects but everything turned out just fine. Me and wife had around 20 minutes of quality sex with changing positions. Was all wet afterwards like chopping the wood. I appreciate that since i normally achieving a plateau around 5 min of sex and this was a real deal for me. Usually i have no problems with getting erections, but sure thing Sildamax give me sword strong erection. I appreciate your review and in my opinion definitely will use this medicine lot of times again. I think it’s a miraculous pill and make me feel like a super (powered) hero :-) which is great for sexual confidence too.
    Regards, Tom

    • Hi Tom
Thanks for sharing your experience. I don’t know if it’s a typo, but you say “usually I have no problems with getting erections”. If that’s the case, then the normal medical advice is not to take ED medication. At the end of the day, it might give you an even stronger erection, but you have to balance the effect it has on your body with the result. And if you don’t really need it in the first place, my opinion would be it’s best to avoid these kind of strong medications.

  9. Hi,

I have used this product for a couple months now and I do notice some slight side effects, flushed face, stuffy nose and even the blueish vision but they don’t last long and the pros outweigh the cons for me. One question though has anyone taken it overseas with them? Going to Canaries for week holiday and was wanting to take a strip of 6 tablets packed away in washbag in suitcase. Would this be ok?

    Thanks for any feedback.

    • Hi there
Thanks for sharing your experience. I did travel with it from the UK to South America and had no problem. But I have no idea if it’s ok for your trip.
      Ethan

      • Thanks for the feedback. I was fine taking it to Spain/Canary islands. I think as long as you put it in your case in original blister packaging and don’t take anymore than necessary for your trip then no one is going to notice or bother with them. It may be slightly different in hand luggage going through security. Anyway it helped me relax and make the most of my holiday!

        • No Problem John. My thoughts exactly. I’ve taken various different PE and ED treatments in and out of both England and the United States and never had a problem either.
          Ethan

  10. Used Sildamax for the first time today. Slightly nervous having read of your experience. I wasn’t feeling any side effects and actually wandered if it would work. Sure enough, the slightest sexual contact resulted in instant arousal that sustained for about an hour, gradually diminishing over the course of 10 minutes after ejaculation. Still had a couple of random erections 4-5 hours later. I drank a full glass of water when taking, and another 30 mins later. Only sensation was a vaguely pleasant one in the loins. I think I read somewhere that the side effects may only affect 10% of people, not sure on that stat, though.

    • Hi Steven
Sorry for making you worry with the review! I have to be upfront when writing about my experiences though. Having said that, you’re right in that not everyone will have side effects – I don’t know the stat either.
Anyway, it’s great that it worked so well for you – and useful for other readers to hear about.
      Ethan

    • Hi Adam
Sorry, but I don’t want to recommend a place to get it from, as I’m not 100% convinced it’s a product I even want to recommend.
      Ethan

  11. Recently met a girl and really fallen for each other. Had a 5 year break from sex after splitting with a long time partner. I was really stressed when it got to having sex with my new girl and 2 nights in a row i could not perform…gutted (im 34 btw).

A friend suggested the product you tested and the following weekend we managed 3 2 hour sessions. It felt like a miracle. No side effects to speak of for me. Confidence boosted, now down to quarter tablet a pop.

    • Hi Bri
Thanks for sharing your experience. It’s great that you had such good results from it, and no side effects. I don’t doubt there are men who will have a very different experience from me, so it’s good to hear a different side.
      Ethan

  12. Why Use generic?
I recommend you to levitra 5 mg and you have no side effects!!
levitra with stud100 or other it is a best.
    You hold an hour…

    • Hi Amit
I agree that it’s better to use a brand medication if possible. But I test all kinds of products to let readers know how they work, and also in the hope that I’ll find some gems in the rough!
      Ethan

    • Hi J D
There’s not much I can do to help other than recommend reading different articles on this site, and others, to find out what your options are and advice about different techniques and products for erectile dysfunction.
      Ethan

  13. Varies according to age and how long you’ve been taking it. Been using Sildenfil for about 8 years, and with my advancing age (71) no side effects at all. I’m taking 150 mg.
I am a heart patient for 15 years, but the product isn’t working as well as it used to! (my age)? I found that all the suppliers online are from India, even ordering from the Canadian Pharmacies on anywhere. Beware, they will hound you daily (on the phone) when your name is sold to many other suppliers!

    • Hi Joe
Thanks for sharing your experience. Out of interest, being a heart patient, did you clear taking sildenafil with your doctor beforehand? Have you had any side effects at all from using it?
      Ethan
